The commission maintained that the requested information pertains to service record i.e. records pertaining to the recruitment and subsequent records generated during the course of service of the government employee.
The disclosure of the requested information is not only warranted by the letter and spirit of the Act but will also reduce the trust gap between citizens and the public bodies. The disclosure of requested records/information will shed light on the recruitment process and the Appellant would be able to determine that the recruitment and the subsequent promotion of the employee in question is in line with the relevant laws, policies and procedures.
