In the instant appeal, the citizen requested Multan Electric Power Company to provide information regarding the provision of the Electricity Connections to the consumers in Zam Zam Town / Bin Shafeeq Colony, Sahiwal.
The appellant also requested information about the competent authority who have approved these connection and details about the fee deposited by the owner of the society to the public body.
Despite providing multiple opportunities the respondent neither attended the hearings held in Pakistan Information Commission nor submitted any response. Hence this commission issued an ex-Partee order to decide this appeal.
Pakistan Information Commission has directed the Director (Public Relations) / Public Information Officer, Multan Electric Power Company to provide the information requested with intimation to this office, at the earliest, but in any case, not later than 10 working days of the receipt of this Order.
The public body is also directed to take immediate steps to proactively share through the web site all categories of information mentioned in Section 5 of the Right of Access to Information Act 2017 and submit the compliance report to the commission by October 17, 2021.
