Mohammad Azam

Chief Information Commissioner[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”green” align=”align_left” style=”dotted”][vc_column_text]Before joining as a Chief Information Commissioner in November 2018 Mr. Mohammad Azam has served as Federal Secretary Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He joined Information service of Pakistan after Central Superior Service Examination in 1981. During a long career of over 35 years as a Civil Servant he has served as Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Principal Information Officer (PIO) Press Information Department, Director General External Publicity Wing, Director General Cyber Wing, and Director General Internal Publicity Wing. As a federal Secretary and as of head of several Departments of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting he has supervised the work of thousands of Employees of multiple professions.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][ultimate_spacer height=”25″][vc_single_image image=”361″ img_size=”medium” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_border_circle_2″ border_color=”green”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]He has worked as the first Registrar of Press Council of Pakistan and Managing Director of Shalimar Recoding Company. During his long Career he has served as a Public Relations Officer to the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan and several Federal Ministers of Government of Pakistan. He has served as Registrar of the Supreme Appellate Court of Gilgit-Baltistan for two and half years after his retirement as Federal Secretary.

He has also worked for one year in the United States Congress as a congressional fellow as a staff member in the office of Congressman Charles Wilson in 1987-1988. He has served for over eight years as a Diplomat (Press Attaché and Press Counsellor) in the Embassies of Pakistan in Washington, DC, United States of America and Berlin, Germany and interacted with many international media persons, intellectuals and think tanks during these assignments..

He completed 15 credit Hours of MA International Communication Program from the American University Washington DC. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) and Network+ certified.

He has been actively involved in the drafting stage of Right of Access to Information ACT while working as Federal secretary, Additional Secretary and Director General of Internal Publicity Wing and has interacted with Honourable members of the Parliament, Civil Society Organizations and media person to evolve consensus on the RTI law finally passed by the Parliament in 2017.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator style=”shadow”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][ultimate_spacer height=”25″][vc_single_image image=”307″ img_size=”medium” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_border_circle_2″ border_color=”green”][ultimate_spacer height=”25″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

Fawad Malik

Information Commissioner[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”green” align=”align_left” style=”dotted”][vc_column_text]Mr Fawad Malik, Advocate Supreme Court after doing his study in Law,has been practising for a period spanning over thirty years.Ever since joining the chamber of his father Malik Mohammad Ashraf Awan, a prominent lawyer of Sargodha in 1988, he has been practicing both civil and criminal law.After being eligible to practice law at the High Court level,he had the honour of working in association with and learning finer points of legal intricacies from Dr Khalid Ranjha former Federal Law Minister and Senior Advocate Supreme Court.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Fawad Malik was appointed Assistant Advocate General for the Province of Punjab in the year 2003 and served against this post till 2009, where after he resumed his practice and was enrolled as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 2005.He practiced both at High Court and Supreme Court levels till November 2018,when he was appointed as Federal Information Commissioner.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator style=”shadow”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

Zahid Abdullah

Information Commissioner[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”green” align=”align_left” style=”dotted”][vc_column_text]Mr. Abdullah can perform all tasks with his eyes wide shut, for he unlearnt the art of living with sight 15 years ago when he lost sight at the ripe age of 34. Like the fall of the Roman Empire, sight loss was not an event but a process spanning over 4 years. With the elimination of sight from the equation, he learnt and learnt quickly how to live with touch, taste, hearing, and smell. He believes in learning, unlearning and relearning as and when required for he has the experience of studying at Masters level, with one degree from a public university with sight and the other from a private one without sight; has the experience   of a son raised with 8 siblings with sight and of a husband and a father raising 3 daughters without sight, a person who started his professional career as a sighted person on the verge of losing sight and rose in his career without sight.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][ultimate_spacer height=”25″][vc_single_image image=”239″ img_size=”medium” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_border_circle_2″ border_color=”green”][ultimate_spacer height=”25″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]He believes that access barriers in physical and social environment render people disabled and not the physical impairments. Guided by this philosophy, he has been contributing to the right to information and disability rights movements in the country for over 2 decades as a trainer, resource person and as a researcher.

He claims to be an author, finds human contradictions bemusing, and, like Keats, finds the unheard melodies to be the sweetest, believes Elvis Presley’s  ‘In the Ghetto’ to be the greatest song ever sung and composed, ‘Roman Holiday’ the greatest movie ever made, considers ‘Raja Gidh’ to be overrated, cannot decide which one of ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’ and ‘War and Peace’-is the greatest novel ever written and admits to be fan of Pakistani cricket team.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
