This commission holds that the requested information pertaining to the property -Ward No. 14-belonging to the Respondent Auqaf Department, Layya, is public information and its disclosure is warranted by both the letter as well as the spirit of the Act, 2017.
In the instant Appeal, the record on the file shows that the Respondent demonstrated utter disregard to the provisions of the Act, 2017.
The proper response of the Respondent to the information request of the citizen would have saved time of the Respondent, the Appellant and this information commission.
This commission notes with concern that precious time and resources of government are wasted because officers fail to follow procedure laid down in the Act, 2017 in handling requests for information filed by citizens.
